Back in the day, the cave was the hub of existence; it provided shelter, security, warmth, identity, it was a place to call ‘home’. Back when you either caught dinner or became dinner, we were far more connected to the outdoors and to nature. The outdoors, the bush, the outback was our domain – an environment in which we were comfortable. Today we are mostly urbanised and driven by technology, which has resulted in us becoming disconnected from the outdoors and our innate need to connect with nature.

You can rediscover that feeling of freedom and adventure. You know, the one you had when you were growing up. Playing down at the creek or in the field from dawn till dusk. Unplug from the rat race as you reconnect with yourself and the bush…and thrive in The Cave!

The Man Cave (TMC) is a 2.5 day adventure purely for men – no worries leaving the toilet seat up on this one!

What to Expect

As with all of our experiences and adventures, expect the unexpected! Life is full of mystery and adventure… this experience is no different! This adventure is designed to make you more resilient to change and challenge – having this element of surprise and uncertainty is a critical part of that. The ability to be comfortable with uncertainty will set you apart as an individual. It is an essential ingredient in our ‘secret sauce’!

Keeping the details of your exploration under wraps is all part of the mystery, but here’s a taste of what you can expect going into The Cave….

Arrival Night

Arrive at the RV (Rendezvous) to meet the Agent. You will move to a secret location and be briefed by former Special Forces Operators on all things safety and emergencies and ‘The Code’ (Code of Conduct). Then a quick mission brief before you embark on your first Night Mission! Once you’ve patrolled cross country and located the camp there’s lessons on celestial navigation and survival before lights out.

Day 1

You’re up early for a Discovery Walk in the bush followed by a bush breakfast and lessons on solar navigation, survival tips, bushcraft and adventure. Meals from here on in are Army rations from your very own ration pack. The afternoon includes some really sneaky fun stuff and tracking before we head back to camp for dinner and prepare for the Night Mission! The night ends with stories around the camp fire and a few drinks.

Day 2

You’ll be up early again and after breakfast you’ll head to the cliff for some abseiling and climbing before heading back to a luxury resort for lunch.

What will you get out of the experience?

Results are never guaranteed and are largely dependent on the level of effort and attitude you bring on the day. Most things that are worthwhile achieving take a bit of effort and application – this experience is no different. If you focus, work hard, listen and follow instructions then you will not only have a great time but will also learn some really cool things!

We typically find our clients go away with:

  • A greater sense of self
  • Greater resilience
  • Bushcraft skills
  • Increased bush navigation skills
  • Increased survival skills
  • Friendship, bonding and camaraderie
  • A greater appreciation for and confidence in the great outdoors
  • Renewed vigour for life
  • Tired but really happy!

How Hard is it – Who can do it?

This experience is suitable for most adults between the ages of 18 to 55. Although our oldest participant was 72 years young!

There is a bit of walking involved, but most of it is across fairly flat terrain. However, you are required to carry a daypack at all times on the weekend. Some questions to ask are:

  • Am I fairly active?
  • Can I walk cross country for an hour without a long break?
  • Can I carry a 10kg daypack all day?

If you have any questions relating to suitability for this experience please contact us.
